Working out

The only way I have found myself to be super consistent with workouts, is having a plan. A goal is obvious, but a plan wasn’t.

I literally have a workout calendar where I can cross off the days. I also have a detailed workout that is spelled out for me each day.

This is not an app. This is physical ink and paper that I print out.

It might seem counterintuitive that having a dynamic application on my phone or wherever is vastly less flexible than just having a physical (permanent) copy of my workouts.

That is because apps do a poor job at allowing you to stop or start mid workout, add notes, or glance at while in the middle of a workout.

I also just think having a calendar where I can easily check off the day as complete really helps in some way I have yet been able to put into words.

My calendar is bullet points of the workouts, and separately, I have a detailed printout of the days workout. It will describe the reps, duration, and where I want to be reminded, tips.

It is easier than you think to try this out. I promise you it is all mental. Sit down for 30 minutes and make a calendar and a detailed workout plan, and print it out.

It might not work for you.
